The Southern Ohio Conference released its football All-Star teams on Monday with Oak Hill leading the SOC I and Minford leading the SOC II with eight selections each on their respective divisions' first teams.
The SOC I champion Oaks went undefeated in the regular season, even defeating eventual SOC II champ Minford, before falling to Ridgewood in the second round of the playoffs. Oaks' QB Jesse Slone earned SOC I Back of the Year honors for leading his team to a perfect season and first playoff appearance in school history. Oak Hill coach Greg Phillips was selected Coach of the Year.
Symmes Valley lineman Kyle Bowen was named SOC I Lineman of the Year.
In the SOC II the Back of the Year award was spilt. Minford may have been outright SOC II champs but Falcons’ quarterback Aaron Oesch and Wheelersburg running back Tyler Craigmiles split the award.
Lineman of the Year in the SOC II belonged to Minford's T.J. Alley and Brent Daniels earned Coach of the Year honors.
The order of finish in the SOC I was Oak Hill (4-0), Symmes Valley (3-1), Notre Dame (2-2), East (1-3) and Green (0-4) and in the SOC II it was Minford (5-0), Wheelersburg (4-1), Valley (3-2), West (2-3), Waverly (1-4) and Northwest (0-5).
The Associated Press All-District team is expected to be announced late today.
