Ina Mae Hurst, 97
Ina Mae Edington Hurst, 97, of the Golden Living Center of Vanceburg, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 7:10 p.m. at the Golden Living Center of Vanceburg after an extended illness.
Ms. Hurst was born in Thor, Ky. Oct. 1, 1915, to the late Samuel L. and Edith Laura Stone Edington. She was a member of the Black Oak Christian Church and worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation for 15 years. She also was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband Vernon Hurst, one son, Arnold Hurst, two daughters, Agnes Collins, and Loretta Hurst, four brothers, Oval Edington, Carl Edington, Harvey “Joe” Edington and Jesse “Slim” Edington; one sister, Juanita “Gus” Brown.
Surviving is a daughter, Lawana Ann Hurst of Sterling, Va., six grandchildren, 14-great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Along with many nieces and nephews who will mourn her passing.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday at the Gaydos Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Stone cemetery at Camp Dix, Ky. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Black Oak Christian Church or Maysville Hospice of Hope.
