Melda Lou Rapp, 97
Melda Lou Rapp, 97, of Lucasville, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
She was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Salyersville, Ky.; a daughter of the late John and Minnie Smith Salyers. She was a homemaker, a member of Scioto Baptist Church, and The Ladies Aid.
She is survived by two sons, Glen (Irene) Rapp of Lucasville and Jack (Velma) Rapp of Hilliard; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; and one brother, John William Salyers of Waverly.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denver Rapp, April 28, 1985; one daughter, Janet Egbert; one granddaughter; three brothers, Toad, Wayne, and Alvin Salyers; and five sisters, Elsie Shy, Emma Radabaugh, Deltie Blakeman, Louise Larkin, and Loretta McQuay.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Scioto Baptist Church on Cockrell’s Run Road, with Gary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the funeral Tuesday at the church.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Pleasant Hill Manor for the tender loving care provided to Melda. Also a special thanks to Hospice.







May god bless you through this difficult time. Great grandma is in heaven now along side great grandpa. Was a long time great grandma was here on this earth, but the angels carried her home. Never got a chance to know you very well great grandma, but I know there will be a reunion in the sky when the angels decide to carry me home to you. Rest in eternal peace and love.
