Paul “Tom” Jones, 76

Paul Thomas II “Tom” Jones, age 76, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at University Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born on June 16, 1936, in Fullerton, Ky.; the son of Paul T. and Alice (Millison) Jones. He was educated in the West Portsmouth schools. On Nov. 9, 1956, he married Marilyn “Sue” Gilkerson. He was employed at Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He was very active in sports, being a member of the Lindenwald Baseball League for over 30 years and having Diamond #4 named in his honor, member of BCFOA Butler County Football Officials Association, BCBOA Butler County Basketball Officials Association, Southwest Ohio Umpires and the UAW United Auto Workers Local #863.

He is survived by his wife Sue; his children Camille Jones, Michelle (Greg) Cornett and Thomas “Anthony” (Jen) Jones-Scott; grandchildren Ian (Farah Khan) Sigmon, Amber (Ross) Grubb, Ashley Cornett, Aron (Denisha Baca) Sigmon and Gregory P. Cornett; great-grandchildren Ethan, Quentin, Gavin and Ihsan; sisters Suzanne Bailey and Lucynda Jones; brother Keith Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jacqueline Chandler.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday March 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton. Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Lindenwald Baseball Association in his memory.
