Mary Young, 84
Mary Alice Young, 84, of Lucasville, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Hospice of Warren and Butler Counties in Franklin, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 30, 1928, in New Boston, a daughter of the late James and Lula Kinder Wilson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Young, May 10, 2005.
Mary Alice was a homemaker and a 1946 Valley High School graduate. She was a member of the Lucasville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, holding numerous offices, a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie Sue (Ron) Lyall of Lebanon; one son, James Earl (Angie) Young of Miamisburg; three grandchildren Gregory (Jill) Schlemmer, Tiffany Young and friend Jeff, Jerrod Young and friend Chelsea; three great grandchildren Abby and Emily Schlemmer and Addison Nichole Story; brother-in-law John (Lois) Young of Hamilton, sisters-in-law Loretta Coles of Minford, Margaret Ann Theiss of Milford, Helen Young of Hamilton, and Rita Young of Matheny, W.Va.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Emanuel United Methodist Church in Lucasville with David Cottrell and Paul Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the funeral Friday at the church. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by the Lucasville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
