U no, my daughter, Caitlyn Garrett, is in Mr. Phillips Band & she has learned so much that she even had an opportunity to play with the marching band. She loves it so much! I have had several conversations with Mr. Phillips, and I can't imagine any of this being too much to even try to come to some type of agreement! Not a resignation! These kids are a high rated band with him & they r the ones who will suffer & miss out on everything they have been workin for, by sending him away! It's my understanding that whatever the situation he had inadvertently put those students in....he very quickly removed them! And that's one of the many reasons he is a good teacher! And if this has only happened because he may be a gay man... THEN SHAME ON ALL OF U who find that a problem! My daughter had a gay coach at that school & when the parents sat in the bleachers making comments about how "hot" that was....U SHOULD BE ASHAMED ALSO! Mr. Phillips is a wonderful teacher and it's a terrible mistake to waste our children's talents, because of a "wrong place, wrong time" crap! THATS RIDICULOUS & HOW ABOUT WE PUT OUR CHILDREN FIRST SO THAT ONE DAY THEY CAN BE PROUD TO NOT FOLLOW SOME PEOPLE'S HATRED AGAINST SOMEONE'S SEXUAL PREFERENCE ....CAUSE ISN'T THIS ALL IT IS? YES, & right now I'm ashamed to be affiliated with people who feel that way!
