PDT Content Manager

SOC I champion Eastern and Ironton swept top honors in their respective divisions as the 2013 Associated Press All-Southeast District list was released Tuesday evening.

The Eagles swept the division’s top two honors as senior Chad Lands was named Player of the Year and P.J. Fitch was honored as the Coach of the Year.

The Fighting Tigers saw Zac Carter land Player of the Year honors in Division III while his coach, Mark Lafon, took home Coach of the Year.

Area players that earned Div. III First Team honors were Minford’s Austin McBee, aforementioned Zac Carter of Ironton, Try Fletcher of Ironton, Jayllen Carter of Portsmouth, Piketon’s Craigen Moore, and Trent Arey of Peebles.

Second Team players from the area in Div. III included Michael Hafer of Portsmouth West, Dylan Miller of Wheelersburg, Trevor White of Ironton, Piketon’s Zach Farmer, Oak Hill’s Luke Hammond, Hayden Dunn of Valley and Jordan West of Valley.

Area players that earned Div. III Third Team were Drew Scarberry of Northwest, Jared McCray of Minford, J.B. Travis of Portsmouth West, Isaac Brabson of Piketon, Oak Hill’s Drew Haislop and Beau Justice of Peebles.

Earning Special Mention in Div. III from our area were Will Howard of Valley, Chris Flowers of Valley, Kenton Gullion of Minford and Josh Glover of Ironton.

In Div. IV, area First Teamers were Shane Buckley of New Boston, J.P. Kayser of Notre Dame, Justin Crager of East, aforementioned Chad Lands of Eastern and Tavares Pickett of Eastern.

Second Team players in Div. IV from the area were Tyler Rowe of Symmes Valley, Kevin Lewis of Notre Dame, Patrick Bias of East, South Webster’s Levi Cook and Seth Goddard of South Webster.

Earning spots on the Div. IV Third Team from the area were Austin Baldwin of Symmes Valley, Trent Marcum of Green, Eldin Sarajlic of Clay and Michael Mader of Notre Dame.

D.J. Miller of Symmes Valley and Tyler Crace of Green both earned spots on the Special Mention list.
