Gerald Dailey, 75

Gerald E. “Jerry” Dailey, 75, 0f Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at SOMC Hospice Center after fighting Lewey Body Dementia for over 7 years.

He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Akron; a son of the late Hubert and Beatrice Wilkins Dailey. Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Chillicothe High School and attended the Chillicothe Campus of Ohio University. Jerry started selling cars at age of 18 years where he found he was a born salesman and moved on to salesman for many years and the manager at many automobile dealers in the country.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Dailey whom he married on Sept. 22, 2002, in Greenup, Ky.; six brothers, Gerald E. “Jed” Dailey Jr. of Hilliard, Bruce R. Dailey and wife Linda of Waverly, Timothy L. Dailey and wife Lori of Waverly, Mark A. Dailey and wife Gabriella of Florida, Scott M. Dailey of Waverly and Jeffrey A. Dailey of Portsmouth; a daughter, Julia Dailey of Columbus; two step-daughters, Aubrey A. Potter and husband Landon of Seviersville, Tenn., and Stacey D. Hall and husband Terry of South Webster; a brother, Dennis Dailey and wife Louise of Chillicothe; one sister, Marlene Harvey and husband Jack of Columbus; a brother-in-law Ed Heiss of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren, and four step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Heiss.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Bloom Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Kenny Klaiber and Roger Lavendar officiating. Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster, and Wednesday noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
