Trecie Smith, 99

Trecie Shella Smith, 99, of Portsmouth, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2103, at Heartland of Portsmouth.

She was born Dec. 12, 1913, in the Sedan-Crabtree area of Lucasville; a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Ida May Lundy Crabtree.

Trecie was a former sales clerk and greeter at Walmart and a member of the West Portsmouth Community of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Emily (Rick) Jones of Sciotoville; two sons, Ernie Smith of Franklin Furnace, and Paul (Phyllis) Smith of Lucasville; two grandsons, Michael (Rebecca) Jones and Jason (Tiffany) Jones; granddaughter Amy (Mike) Spradlin, grandson Kevin and friend Stephanie; several additional grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith, Sept. 22, 1984; one son Lowell Raymond Smith; one daughter, Lona Goodrich; four brothers Forest, Floyd, Jess, and Martin Crabtree; and two sisters Ida Brock and Anna Whitehead.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with her nephew, Mike Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1:30 before the funeral at the funeral home.
