A crowd of approximately 350 people came out to “Bid Your Heart Out,” which is a fundraiser for Notre Dame Schools held Saturday.

Patty Tenant, development director for Notre Dame schools, serves as the chairperson for the event.

According to Tenant,”Bid Your Heart Out” is an event which consists of a live grand auction, a silent auction and raffles and is a major fundraiser the Notre Dame schools.

“Bid Your Heart Out is a major fundraiser for our schools. The money is equally divided between Notre Dame Preschool, and Elementary, and Notre Dame Junior and Senior High,” Tenant said.

Tenant said the funds raised go towards the operating expenses of the schools, as well as the upgrading of school technology.

Tenant said tickets have sold out for the past five years, and 2013 was no different. There is a committee of 15 people who work hard to plan the event, and begins working in August to ensure its success.

“The committee is very, very hard-working. They really put in a huge amount of time on this,”Tenant said.

The event also included dinner and dancing.

The tickets go on sale usually in the beginning of January, and sold out shortly thereafter according to Tenant.

Tenant also said the event raised $115,000 last year, and that she is hopeful for even greater success for 2013.
