Three men are facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night in Scioto County. Dennis G. Hurd, 56, and Steven T. Washington, 25, both of South Point, Ohio, and William D. Whitfield, 28, of Huntington, West Virginia, face charges of possession of Oxycodone and drug trafficking. Both are first degree felonies.

Troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said they stopped a 2001 Cadillac on U.S. 23 southbound, near Rosemount, at approximately 8 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Troopers said when they approached the car, they observed what was believed to be a large bag of pills. Troopers said the subsequent search revealed 1,004 30 milligram Oxycodone pills with a street value of approximately $24,096.

All three were incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail.
