Herbert May, 84

Herbert C. May, 84, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at home. He was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Salyersville, Ky., a son of the late Prater May and Vernie Reed May.

He was a Marine Veteran, a member of Rubyville Community Church, a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465 and a retired Pipefitter with Local 248 in Ashland, Ky. He was married October 3, 1949, in Paintsville, Ky. to Dorotha Marsh May, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Steven L. May and wife Dottie, of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Susan E. Craft and husband Archie, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two brothers, Roger May and wife Helen, of Corbin, Ky.; Michael May and wife Susie, of Fairfield, Ohio; two sisters, Juanita Whitt, of Blanchester, Ohio; Wilma Jean Dunaway and husband Larry, of Loveland, Oh; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by brothers Bob May, Haskell May and a sister, Anna Lou May. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Rubyville Community Church, with Cal Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating, with burial at Memorial Burial Park, with military rites by James Irwin Post No. 622, and Lucasville Post No. 363. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
