Sherry Vassar, 67
Sherry Ann Vassar, 67, of Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Thelma Louise Daniels Maynard.
Sherry was a homemaker, and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She attended Christ’s Community Church, and she graduated in 1963 from Portsmouth High School.
Surviving are her husband, Phillip Paul Vassar, whom she married in Portsmouth March 12, 1965; a son, Phil Vassar, Jr. of Portsmouth; a daughter, Laura (Randy) Creech of Rosemount; a brother, Michael (Judy) Maynard of Pataskala; and four grandchildren, Kimmy Jo Vassar, Cirrus Nicole Vassar, Kristen Michelle Vassar and Mollie Jo Creech.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Pastors Rick Clark and Ralph Clay officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 to 2 p.m.
