Ray Pollard, 92
Ray Leslie Pollard, 92, of Portsmouth, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at BridgePort Health Care Center. Born on May 19, 1920, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Floyd Earl and Badie Taylor Pollard. Les was a Navy veteran of WWII, a retired machinist for General Motors and a member of Twin Valley Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Stout Pollard; a son, Donald Ray Pollard and four brothers.
Surviving are three brothers, Floyd (Carrie) Pollard and Ronald (Martha) Pollard, all of West Portsmouth, and Leroy (Wanda) Pollard of Findlay; three sisters, Ola Fraley and Audrey (Vincent) Ferguson, all of West Portsmouth and Mary Crawford of Portsmouth; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the ADKINS-BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Pastor Donald Noel officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery in Stout. The family will receive friends at the Adkins-Brant Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
