Carl Fields, 78
Carl L. Fields, 78, of Wheelersburg died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Best Care Rehab Center. He was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Fielden, Ky., a son of the late Benton and Mary Barker Fields. Carl was a member of Wait’s Baptist Church, was a 1953 graduate of Portsmouth West High School, was on the Scioto Water Board, a former active member of the Portsmouth Lions Club and served in the Navy Reserve.
He is survived by his wife, Loreta Kent Fields of Wheelersburg; two sons, Carl Steven Fields and wife Brenda of Latham and Ronald Lee Fields of the Phillipines; three sisters, Geneva Denning of West Portsmouth, Delores Shupert of Lucasville and Janet Baker of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren, Christopher Fields, Amber Younker, Deidre Gernon, Josh Fields and Anna Marie Fields and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sue Watson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor David Frazie officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 1 to 2 p.m. at D. W. SWICK in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
