Thomas Cook, 61

Thomas Lee Cook, 61, of Sciotoville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was born Feb. 6, 1951, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Junior Rudolph and Ruby Marie Allen Cook.

A truck driver for 38 years, Tom retired from the Yellow Freight Trucking Company, and he was a member of the Teamsters Local 413. He was a 1969 Portsmouth High School graduate, and had attended Otterbein University.

Surviving are a son, Eric Thomas (Melanie) Cook of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Kimberly Renee Bramstedt of Cleveland, and Debbie Cook of Columbus; two sisters, Sally Cook of Sciotoville, and Grace Rose of Portsmouth; a foster brother, Smitty “Buddy” Hughes of Russells Point, Ohio ; two grandchildren, Grant Thomas Cook and Elizabeth Bramstedt; and his fiancée, Terri Snedecor of Portsmouth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Don Noel officiating. Interment will be in Quillen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Saturday.
