PDT Staff Report

IRONTON — Appearing in Ironton Municipal Court Thursday, Hanging Rock Mayor Christopher Davidson saw his DUI charge reduced to “physical control” due to a lack of evidence that Davidson was operating his vehicle at the time.

Davidson, 43, received a 10-day suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to the reduced charged.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Davidson was arrested early in the morning of Dec. 9 after State Troopers and officers from the Ironton Police Department checked a suspicious vehicle parked on Mimosa Lane in the Green Valley subdivision in Ironton.

Upon contact with Davidson, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and his speech was slurred. Davidson was arrested and charged with an OVI.

At Thursday’s hearing, prosecutors said there was no evidence that Davidson was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident, resulting the the reduced charge.

Did they at least give him a speeding ticket? Ohh wait, they only do that to the 95% of people that are just traveling through. They remember to treat their own people right.

Message to Hanging Rock: You could save a lot of money if you put up speed camera's instead of having the only 2 hangning rock cops sitting on the highway. You may also be able to stop some real crime instead of preying on out of towners doing 58 in a 55.

Screw Hanging Rock, their mayor and especially the worthless cops that need to get a real job.

Need to take note of this "professional courtesy". Make sure the cops have "no evidence that you are operating the vehicle at the time of the incident". What a joke!
