Betty Russell, 83

Betty Russell, 83, better known as “Nan” by many, of Otway, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 18, 1929, at Duck Run, a daughter of the late James and Louise Mullins Boldman.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Tick Ridge Community Church where she was the Secretary and Treasurer for many years.

She is survived by four daughters Donna Armentrout, Louise Breech, Pam McAllister, and Debbie Warren, all of Otway; one son, Michael Price of Otway; Tracy Boldman, her grandson whom she reared; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several great-great-great grandchildren; four brothers James “Sonny” Boldman of Otway, Carl Boldman of McDermott, Larry Boldman of New Mexico, Harold Boldman of Oak Hill; four sisters Pauline Branham of Hamilton, Ohio, Darlene Powell of Otway, Joan Hosey of Columbus, and Brooksie Pence of Lucasville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Russell, June 3, 2004; one daughter Brenda Grooms; and one brother Donald Boldman.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Tick Ridge Community Church with Matt Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and for an hour before the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
