Leader rewrites West’s history books in 60-41 win

West’s Tori Leader became the first player in school history, boys or girls, to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for a career as the Senators took a 60-41 road win from SOC II host Northwest.

Leader finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds in the win while teammate Taylor Conley added 10. Mandi Kidder led the Mohawks with 10.

West hits the road Wednesday to take on North Adams. Northwest hosts Eastern to close out a four-game homestand.

Oak Hill 63, Valley 50

A 15-5 third quarter proved to be the difference Thursday night as Oak Hill left Lucasville with a 63-50 SOC II win over Valley.

Leanna Adkins led the Oaks with 19 points, Paige Roseberry had 13 and Abby Haislop chipped in with 10 in the win. Megan Duduit and McKenzie Coriell each had 11 points in the loss.

The Indians host South Webster next Thursday. Oak Hill goes on the road Saturday to face Athens.

Eastern 78, East 49

Carson Roney went for 20 points and visiting Eastern kept its hopes of at least sharing the SOC I alive with a 78-49 win at East.

Roney was joined by Cassidy Roney (14 points), Brittany Mounts (11) and Kayla Alley (10) in double figures. Mercedes Tackett led all scorers with 24 points and Tiffany Craft added 12 in the loss.

Both teams will take on SOC II opponents Monday. The Tartans host South Webster and the Eagles are at Northwest.

Clay 47, Green 39 (Overtime)

Thanks to an 8-0 overtime session, host Clay survived a scare from Green and prevailed with a 47-39 overtime win.

Katie Redding led the Panthers with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Lexie Gilliland added 11 in the win.

Giulia Elli led the Bobcats with 18. Clay visits Chillicothe Southeastern Monday while Green travels to Ashland (Ky.) Fairview.
