Valley’s balance takes down Northwest

Valley shot 54 percent from the field Tuesday night and took care of visiting Northwest 80-36 in SOC II action.

On a night where all 11 Indians who dressed scored, Bryan Rolfe led Valley with 11 points, five assists and two steals while Ethan Clark-Holbrook finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Marcus Potter led all scorers with 17.

The Indians travel to Wheelersburg Friday. The Mohawks are at Oak Hill.

Wheelersburg 62, West 55

Behind Aaron Cowgill’s game-high 21 points, Wheelersburg left West Tuesday night with a 62-55 SOC II win.

Dylan Miller had 14 points and Jacob Spradlin added 11 in the win. JB Travis finished with 19 points and five assists, Michael Hafer had a dozen and Zach Frye grabbed nine rebounds in the loss.

The Pirates welcome Valley Friday night. The Senators travel to Waverly.

Minford 68, Waverly 49

Austin McBee went off for a game-high 25 points and Jared McCray chipped in with 10 as host Minford took care of Waverly 68-49 in Tuesday’s SOC II tilt.

Jean Paul White paced the Tigers with 19 and Eric Rinehart added 16. The Falcons play host to South Webster Friday night while Waverly welcomes West.

Because of an error, the Daily Times will run Tuesday’s box score in Thursday’s edition.

South Webster 47, Oak Hill 42

Despite a 20-point performance from Luke Hammond, host South Webster weathered the storm and behind two double-digit performances from Andrew Salisbury and Seth Goddard, defeated the Oaks 47-42.

Salisbury led the Jeeps with 19 and Goddard added 14. South Webster goes to Minford Friday and Oak Hill plays host to Northwest.

Visiting Notre Dame kept pace in the SOC I race Tuesday with a 57-52 road win at East.

JP Kayser led the Titans with 13 points while Michael Mader finished with 11 and Dakota Smith added 10. Teammate Kevin Lewis (10 rebounds, 10 steals, nine points) was one point away from a triple-double. Patrick Bias paced the Tartans with 23 points and Justin Crager finished with 15.

The Titans return home Friday to battle New Boston. East is at Western.

A 13-point outing from Tyler Rowe and 10 from Dylan Malone helped short-handed Symmes Valley to a 46-35 home SOC I win over Clay.

Michael Schmidt led the Panthers with nine points and Eldin Sarajlic added eight points and eight rebounds. Clay gets a visit from SOC I-leading Eastern Friday night. The Vikings invade Green.

Ironton swept the regular season series with Portsmouth by taking an 86-52 win over the visiting Trojans thanks to 38 points from Zac Carter.

Trevor White added 15 and Trey Fletcher contributed with 14 in the win. Jayllen Carter led Portsmouth with 14 and Sky Oliver had 10.

The Trojans are at Warren Friday.
