Robert Redoutey, Sr. 81
Robert Lee Redoutey Sr., 81, of Portsmouth died Saturday Jan. 19, 2013, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in West Portsmouth; the son of the late Albert and Doris Distel Redoutey. Bob was retired from Dayton-Walther Corporation, a member of the First Baptist Church of West Portsmouth and a US Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife Josephine Calloway Redoutey; his children Diana (Steve) Rollins of Otway, Pamela (Larry) Preston of Otway and Robert (Roxanne) Redoutey Jr. of Rubyville; a special grandson Eric Preston; and grandchildren Lisa Taylor, Robin Stevens, T.J. Redoutey, Christopher Preston and Shannon Preston; 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; sisters Rita Thoroughman of Portsmouth, Linda (Bill) Bentley of South Shore, Virginia (William) Burton of West Portsmouth, Ruth Jarvis of Texas and Joann (Gene) Staggs of West Portsmouth; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son Norman Eugene Redoutey and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday January 24,2013 at Melcher Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Goodman officiating. Burial will be at Garvin Cemetery. Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the services on Thursday. There will be Military Graveside Rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
