Law’s Hollywood submitted by Craig Shaw

Andy Lyles wrote: Can’t quite make out the name of the hotel on the right…looks like Hotel Manhattan…sound familiar to anyone?

Doug Hale wrote: I don’t know if this building still exists, but it looks very familiar

Linda Arthur Jennings wrote: 1939 City Directory has Manhattan Hotel & Restaurant at 818 Gallia but I couldn’t find Law’s Hollywood listed. It did list the Lyric as 820 Gallia. So this has to be the same building with a remodel job or rebuilt???

Andy Lyles wrote: Linda, the address would sure make sense. It has to have changed names and that seems like the logical candidate

Kimberly Workman wrote: Wasn’t this where PNC Bank drive thru is? Wasn’t Fowlers in that building right next door at one time? Wasn’t a Jim Dandy rest. there when I was a kid? Dr. Altizer had an office upstairs in the theatre? Had a big eye on the glass door and you went upstairs on the left to his office?

Andy Lyles wrote: Kim…I think you just described the Lyric…I remember the big eye

This building looks to me a what I remember as the old Lyric Movie Theater near what was known as the National Bank back then. There was what was known as th Manhatan Bar and Grill near it.This could be an earlier photo of the place I remember.Steve Webb
