Brenda Grooms, 66

Brenda Grooms, 66, of Peebles, formerly of McDermott, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1946, in Friendship, Ohio a daughter of Betty Boldman Russell of Otway, and the late Donald Lewis Price.

Brenda was a homemaker, a member of the Tick Ridge Community Church, and attended New Hope Church in Locust Grove.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Grooms, whom she married Jan. 16, 1990, in Greenup, Ky.; six children, Garney S. (Mary Lynn) Helle, Dusty Helle, Lillian Jane Helle, Sherry (Rod) Thibeault, Betty (Clem) Koblesky, and Pauline (Gene) Pyles all from Alberta, Canada; 22 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Tammy) Price of Otway; four sisters, Donna Armentrout of Otway, Louise Breech of Otway, Pam McAllister of Rarden, and Debbie Warren of Otway.

She was also preceded in death by her step father, James Russell.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Matt Phipps and Duane Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Mershon Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and for an hour before the funeral Monday at the funeral home.
