John Lytten, 73

John F. Lytten, 73, of New Boston died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1939, in New Boston, a son of Lillian Logan Lytten of New Boston and the late Walter C. Lytten. John started his work career in the shipyards in Baltimore, Md., was a former New Boston Police Officer, served on the New Boston Village Counsel, worker for the Scioto County CAO, attended Rio Grand College and retired from Dayton Walther Corp.

He is also survived by his wife, Loraine Davis “Orie” Lytten whom he married on Aug. 5, 1961, in Wise, Va.; one daughter, Anita Lawson and husband Kirby of New Boston; a sister, Leila Phillips and husband Chip of Stout; two brothers, Walter “Butch” Lytten and wife Mary of New Boston and Paul Randy Lytten and wife Cheryl of Rosemount; two special grandsons, Kirby T. “Bub” Lawson Jr. and wife Lori and Kris Lawson and an extra special great-granddaughter, Jadelyn Lawson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Nichols (Eddie).

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Rick Arthurs officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday noon to 2 p.m. at D.W. SWICK IN NEW BOSTON. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
