Joe Uecker, was recently sworn into the Ohio Senate at the 14th District representative. Uecker said he and his staff have hit the ground running and has several items he plans to make into legislation.

“It’s been a smooth transition. I have an office staff of two young ladies who are new to the Senate but, they do have experience in the house (of representatives). We’ve hit the ground running and we are working on legislation already,” Uecker said. “I’ve gotten my notice of what my committees are and I am excited to get started.”

Uecker said the legislation he and his staff are currently working on focuses on gun permits.

“Right now I’m dusting off some second amendment legislation, the one that does not let journalists find out who has gun permits and who does not. I’m going to actively peruse that,” Uecker said. “I have some ideas for school financing in the areas of school transportation. We’re going to try to save the state a couple million dollars if we can. We are getting ideas from across the district and we are getting ready to have some interested party hearings in the next week or two. So, I am up to my elbows in legislation and with constituent issues.”

The 14th District consists of Scioto County, Adams County, Brown County, Clermont County and part of Lawrence County.
