G. Raymond Zaler
G. Raymond Zaler 89, of Lucasville, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Elbrooke Pavillion in Minford.
He was born Sept. 11, 1923 in Scioto County, Ohio a son of the late Charles William and Jennie Barrett Zaler.
Ray was the founder and owner of the GR Zaler Insurance Agency, a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, and a 1941 Valley High School graduate. He was a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge 465 for 60 years, Lucasville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Co-Chair of the Lucasville Sesquicentennial Celebration, former member of RSVP, Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Scioto Valley Grange, Farm Bureau Council, the Sister City Organization, and one of the founders of the Lucasville Little League.
He is survived by one son, Michael (Patty) Zaler of Marion; daughter-in-law Susie Zaler of Lucasville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Davis Zaler, June 17, 2012; one son Charles (Chuck) Zaler; one daughter Patricia Legg; two grandchildren Chris and David Zaler; one great grandson, Michael Zaler III; and one brother, Howard Zaler.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 in Lucasville Cemetery with Rev. David Cotrell officiating. Friends may call from noon to 1:30 Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
