Jeanne Groves, 52
Jeanne L. Groves, 52 of Mount Hope Rd. Otway, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. following a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 11, 1960, in West Union, Ohio and is the daughter of Robert Groves, Sr. and Patricia Blackburn Groves of Piketon.
Surviving are a son, John Ward of Otway, two brothers: Randy Neal Groves and wife Susie of Rarden, Robert L. Groves, Jr. and wife Tammy of Rarden, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a former social worker for the Scioto County Job & Family Services, and attended the Minford Nazarene Church. She was very active in the community, participated in several festival committees, and took part in grievance counsel. She had a very special interest in family matters, was passionate about line dancing, and was never afraid to go the extra mile. But with all the things she was known for, the one thing that she did best…”SHE LOVED.”
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Minford Nazarene Church with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Burial will follow in the U.P. Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. and 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.
