The Pike County Sheriff’s Department pursued and captured a pair of burglary suspects while another eluded capture.
Deputies from the Pike County Sheriff Department responded to a burglary in progress complaint at 2717 Valley Road in Waverly Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, according to Pike County Sheriff, Richard N. Henderson.
While in transit to the named address, Sheriff Henderson and Deputies met the suspect vehicle on Denver Road. The officers pursued the vehicle for a short length of time, ending on Debord Road in Ross County. The suspects were two males who were identified as David Caplinger (male, 29 years of age from Chillicothe, Ohio) and Paul Wells (male, 26 years old from Waverly), fled into a wooded area, abandonning the vehicle. Jolyn Prieto, (a 24 year old female from Chillicothe) was apprehended at the vehicle by Sheriff Henderson.
Suspect, Paul Wells, was captured in the area on foot. Mr. Wells’s bond has been set for $40,000, as he is being held in the Scioto County Jail on charges of Burglary.
Suspect Jolyn Prieto’s bond has been set for $10,000, and Ms. Prieto is being held in the Scioto County Jail on charges of Burglary.
An arrest warrant has been issue for suspect David Caplinger. Mr. Caplinger is described as the following: a male, 5-11 tall, approximately 180-pounds, green eyes and blond, thinning hair. Caplinger is from the Chillicothe area. Any and all information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Caplinger contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
