Proehl’s 22 keeps Pirates SOC II perfect

Fay Proehl’s game-high 22 points maintained visiting Wheelersburg’s two-game lead in the SOC II loss column with a 46-41 win over West.

Maggie Stegman added 10 in the win. Tori Leader led the Senators with 19.

The Pirates will cross the Ohio River Saturday to face Greenup County before Monday’s home tilt with Valley. West goes to Waverly Monday.

Host Minford kept pace in the SOC II standings Thursday night with a 63-35 win over Waverly.

Kylie Berry led all scorers with 15 points, Brooklyn Yeley had 14 and Carrie Wynn added 11 for the Falcons. Jordyn Corcoran had 10 to pace the Tigers.

Minford will host South Webster to start next week’s action. Waverly goes to Chillicothe Southeastern Saturday before returning home Monday to entertain West.

Matching 10-point, 10-rebound outings from Taylor Skaggs and Bethany Conley helped Valley hold serve and defeat visiting Northwest 56-35 in Thursday’s SOC II action.

The Indians held the Mohawks to eight points in the second half and no field goals in the fourth quarter. Valley welcomes Peebles Saturday before traveling Monday to SOC II-leading Wheelersburg. Northwest travels Monday to Oak Hill.

Jen Arnzen’s 20 points and 17 rebounds led visiting Notre Dame to a 61-42 SOC I win over East.

Stacie Ramey added nine points while Katie Stevenson had eight assists and seven steals in the win. Mercedes Tackett led the Tartans with 16 and Jessie Monroe added 10.

The Titans host New Boston Monday. East is at Western.
