Schmidt’s buzzer-beater gives Clay 67-66 win in 2OT

Michael Schmidt’s putback of Eldin Sarajlic’s free throw miss at the buzzer sent visiting Clay home happy with a 67-66 double overtime SOC I win over Green.

Mason Pelphrey led the victors with 17 points. Sarajlic and Tony Whitt each had 14 points. Schmidt finished with 12 rebounds and Sarajlic ended up with nine.

Trent Marcum led the Bobcats with a game-high 27 points. Tyler Crace added 20.

The Panthers are back on the road Friday to Notre Dame. Green goes to Eastern.

With 11 players figuring into scoring for Notre Dame Tuesday, Kevin Lewis led the Titans with 15 points for a 70-34 road SOC I win over Western.

Will Haney added 10 points while Lewis added nine steals and seven assists. Ethan Riggs led the Indians with 10.

Notre Dame goes back home Friday to entertain Clay. Western goes to Symmes Valley.

Despite double-doubles from Justin Crager and Patrick Bias, East dropped a 58-45 road SOC I contest to Eastern.

Crager led all scorers with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Bias had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Travis Bradford accounted for nine rebounds. Chad Lands led the Eagles with 17 points, Colton Lightle had 13 and Tavares Pickett ended with a dozen.

The Tartans go to New Boston Friday. Eastern welcomes Green.

Every SOC II team has a loss in conference as Oak Hill forced a share of the conference league lead with a 65-48 win over Valley.

Garrin Stiltner led all scorers with 21 points including a 1o-for-10 perfomance from the line. Kyle Love had 18 and Drew Haislop added 16 in the win.

Jordan West ledd the Indians with 18 and Bryan Rolfe added 12. Vallety travels to South Webster Friday and then hosts Adena Saturday. The Oaks entertain Wheelersburg Friday.

Peebles dropped its first SHL contest this season as host Sardinia Eastern remains undefeated in league play and in first place with a 75-62 win.

Trent Arey led the Indians with 25 points and Beau Justice added 24 with five assists. Peebles will travel Friday to Ripley.
