Michigan men face drug charges

Two Michigan men are facing drug charges and other charges after an arrest in Greenup County, Ky.

Kenneth Oliver, 24 and Charles Gillard, 41, of Stanwood, Mich. are charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, public intoxication and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. In addition, Gillard is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and possession of marijuana.

Greenup County Sheriff Keith Cooper said at around 1 a.m. Saturday, Oliver and Gillard were arrested near South Portsmouth, Kentucky.

Deputy Cody Fuller said he stopped a vehicle on U.S. 23 North, and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. He said several illegal drugs, including a large amount of marijuana and other controlled substances were found inside. He said deputies also found several deadly weapons and a large sum of money on the subjects.

The two were arrested and charged.
