Walter Ramey, 84
Walter Ramey, 84, of Sciotoville died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in West Virginia, a son of the late George Ramey and Victoria Maynard Ramey. He was a Navy Veteran from WWII and was a master brick mason during his work career. His favorite hobby was being outdoors, especially in the wilderness and making his handcrafted walking canes
He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Ramey; three sisters, Girthel Crace, Mary Margaret Ramey and Carey Catherine Ramey; two brothers, Ernie Ramey and Earl Ramey; his two former spouses, Josephine Jackson and Betty Cunningham Ramey
He is survived by his current wife Patricia A. Ramey and her family; three daughters, Pam Smith, Sharon (Sherry) Zack Brumfield, and Beverly Sue Reed; two sons, Mike Ramey and John (Kelly) Ramey; two sisters, Shelby (Roy) Moore and Kay Wilkins; one brother, Ed Ramey; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Horsley, Zachary Brumfield Jr., Karen Crum, James Ramey, Joseph Ramey, Jacob Ramey, Christopher Reed, Rachel Reed, Patrick Ramey and Rhonda Meyer; five great grandchildren, Jayelyn Ramey, Alyssa Ramey, Brenton Ramey, Kyla Ramey and Mia Crum; along with many nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Davis Funeral Home in South Webster with Pastor Jim Benner officiating and interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military graveside services by the American Legion James Dickey Post
Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Monday and until the services on Tuesday at the Davis Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, Alzheimers Association, USSA Senior/ Adult Day Care.
