Larry Barnes, 73

Larry Thomas Barnes, age 73, of Wheelersburg, died Dec. 21, 2012, at his residence. He was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Nashville, TN, to the late John Thomas Barnes and Ethel Irene Royster Barnes. He was a former cable splicer for GTE Verizon. He had several hobbies and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ellen Conley Barnes whom he married Jan. 23, 1965, in Wheelersburg. Also surviving are one son, Kenneth Barnes, one brother, Richard (Hilda) Barnes, one sister, Barbara Barnes McGraw, one grandson, Joshua Alan Barnes and three great grandchildren, Breanna Malone, Justin Michael Barnes and Joseph Alan Barnes. The grandchildren were the love of his life.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. the day of the service.
