Oaks stay perfect, give Jeeps first loss

Oak Hill is the last SOC II team to keep an unblemished overall mark after the Oaks defeated visiting South Webster 54-38, knocking the Jeeps from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Nathan Love and Garrin Stiltner led Oak Hill with 17 points and 14 respectively. Levi Cook paced South Webster with 16 points and Seth Goddard chipped in with 14.

The Jeeps welcome Minford Tuesday to resume SOC II action. The Oaks go to McDermott to face Northwest.

Minford 60, Waverly 48

Minford left Pike County with a 60-48 win Friday night over Waverly in an SOC II matchup.

Austin McBee scored 20 points in the win to lead all scorers while Jared McCray added a dozen and Kenton Gullion finished with 11. Eric Rinehart’s 19 points and Jean Paul White’s 14 were the top leaders for the Tigers.

The Falcons travel to Lewis County (Ky.) Saturday to face Raceland (Ky.). Waverly rests until Tuesday where a trip to West awaits.

Valley 67, Northwest 51

Visting Valley’s depth proved to be too much as 11 of the 12 members of the varsity squad cracked the scoring column in a 67-51 win over SOC II rival Northwest.

Hayden Dunn’s 14 points were the most for the Indians on the night. Drew Scarberry’s 24 was the game high in the defeat to go along with five rebounds.

The victors return home Tuesday to host Wheelersburg. The Mohawks welcome Oak Hill.
