Jax Theatre of Wheelersburg is set to perform ‘A Christmas Carol’, Dec. 14, 15 and 22. As an added feature to each of the performances, the theatre has brought in R.J. Haddy a creature designer and make-up effect artist.

For each performance Haddy will be transforming 19-year-old Jordan Nickles into an 80-year-old Ebenezer Scrooge.

“The play is shaping up really well. We have a cast of 37 people from as far away as Ironton. We have a lot of talent a lot of good singers and actors, it’s shaping up to be a really good show,” Nickles said.

Nickles said the play is, “a classic Christmas Carol it’s the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by his dead business partner Jacob Marley who warns him, he’s got to change his selfish ways or he’s going to end up like him. He gets visited by the ghost of Christmas past, present and future. They try to get him to change his ways, before it’s to late.”

Haddy worked previously on the Batman and Robin Movie transforming people and creating props.

Most recently Haddy was on the SyFy channels show Face Off. He will be traveling to Wheelersburg for every performance, to apply the mask to Nickles.

Jordan Bowling, a Shawnee State University Student, is playing a young Ebenezer Scrooge in the play said there is a lot people can look forward to in each of the performances.

“Everyone has been great to work with on this performance. I did not see last years show but, I think this years show is going to be a big hit as well,” Bowling said. “People can really look forward to the special effects makeup, it’s going to be awesome. The music and singing is great and there is a lot of talented acting in this play.”

Tonight’s the performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 15 the performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. There are two performances scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

I believe TG-Entertainment is the best thing that has come along in our area since Veterans Helping Veterans & Others. You can't find a better place to go for entertainment that you can take your family too. The live singing groups (gospel and country)are the best money can buy. The plays they have & everything about their entertainment are top notch. The owners are some of the best people you would ever want to meet. The sound system is great, the sitting area is clean and the seating is very comfortable. The lobby is beautiful, neat and eye catching. The concision area is very clean and the prices are on the money. The prices of admission are cheaper than any place you can go for such entertainment. I have been there several times and I love it. Come and see for yourself. You will find your self coming back again and again.
