West gets hot from the arc, beats New Boston 91-53

A busy night from downtown helped West blow past visiting New Boston 91-53 in Tuesday’s nonconference action.

The Senators were 16-of-33 from beyond the arc. Leading the way was Christian Martin, who connected on five triples for all 15 of his points, which ended as a tie for the team-high mark with teammate Michael Davis.

Zach Bolton added 13 points while Zach Frye’s 12 points as well as Zach Bolton and JB Travis, each with 11, were double-figure outputs. Shane Buckley led all scorers with 22 in the loss.

West is on the road Friday to face Wheelersburg in an SOC II contest. The Tigers get a visit from Eastern.

Jared McCray’s 16-point, 20-rebound turnout helped host Minford forget Friday’s 64-62 loss to Valley as the Falcons defeated Notre Dame 60-53.

Austin McBee led Minford with 22 and Kenton Gullion 14. JP Kayser poured in a game-high 24 points in a losing effort.

The Falcons visit Waverly Friday while the Titans play host to East.

With a 17-point performance from Dylan Miller and another dozen added by Derek Moore, host Wheelersburg defeated Green 60-42 in Tuesday’s nonconference tilt.

The Applegates, Clay and Rob, finished with 13 points and 11 respectively for the Bobcats. Green committed 10 turnovers and grabbed 16 rebounds.

The Pirates welcome West in Friday’s SOC II battle while the Bobcats have a back-to-back home weekend that starts with Friday’s SOC I game with Western.

A 25-16 edge in the fourth quarter helped visiting Piketon come from behind to defeat Valley 78-73.

All five Redstreaks who cracked the scoring column finished in double figures, led by Colton Williams’ team-high 21 points and Craigen Moore’s 19. Hayden Dunn had a double-double, 26 points and 11 rebounds, as Chris Flowers and Jordan West each had 14 for the Indians.

Piketon ventures to Frankfort Friday to face SVC foe Adena. Valley is on the road that night as well at Northwest.

Trent Arey’s triple-double along with Beau Justice’s 26 points helped host Peebles secure a 73-47 nonconference win Tuesday over Northwest.

Arey finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists on the night. It’s his third triple-double in as many games.

Cory Burnworth paced the Mohawks with 19 and Drew Scarberry chipped in with 13 in the loss. The Indians travel to Manchester Friday for a Southern Hills League matchup while Northwest gets to see another team with the Indian nickname in the form of Valley for Friday’s game in McDermott.
