Doddridge, Skaggs push Valley past Clay

Lexie Doddridge’s 14 points along with Taylor Skaggs’s double-double were catalysts in visiting Valley’s 60-47 win over Clay in Saturday’s battle of SOC II versus SOC I.

Skaggs finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Bethany Conley also collected 10 rebounds but was a point shy of a double-double. The Panthers got 16 points from Katie Redding and another 13 from Emily Widdowson in the loss.

The Indians take on Waverly in Monday’s SOC II tilt. Clay travels to Green to resume SOC I action.

Beau Justice, who rattled off 21 points in the second half of Friday’s season-opening win over North Adams, put in 24 points as visiting Peebles defeated Western 68-35 in Saturday’s nonconference action.

Trent Arey recorded a triple-double on the night, accounting for 11 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. The Indians return home to face Northwest Tuesday.
