Minford tops Clay 95-37 behind McBee’s 39

Minford rolled over Clay Tuesday evening defeating the Panthers 95-37 Tuesday evening.

Austin McBee had a night to remember for the Falcons rolling up 39 points.

“Tempo was good defensively. We had lots of turnovers. Offensively we played well, but that goes without saying,” Minford coach Josh Shoemaker said.

Minford will take on Valley Friday while Clay will travel to Western.

West hosted Coal Grove Tuesday evening and fell 61-57.

Zach Frye led the Senators with 15 points while teammate Michael Hafer chipped in 14 points. J.B. Travis also scored 15 points in the loss.

Travis added four assists and eight rebounds while Hafer had seven rebounds.

West hosts Oak Hill Friday.

Seth Goddard had a big night for the Jeeps with 20 points while teammate Lance Swords had 13 points. Andrew Salisbury added 10 points for the Jeeps.

The Bobcats were led by Clay Applegate and Justin Crace who both had 12 points in the loss.

Piketon 55, Westfall 49

The Lady Redstreaks of Piketon opened the 2012-2013 campaign with a win, defeating Westfall 55-49 Tuesday evening.

Kalen Jenkins led the Lady Redstreaks with 14 points and also tallied 11 rebounds. Jenkins’ teammate Ashlee Lawhorn had 11 points and three assists in the win.

Piketon will travel to Paint Valley Thursday evening.
