Joseph Pertuset, 90

Rev. Joseph M. Pertuset, 90, of S.R. 73, Otway, Ohio, died 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth.

He was born May 25, 1922, in Arion, Ohio, a son of the late Julius and Josie Chaffin Pertuset. On April 7, 2006, he was united in marriage to Gathel Boggs Pertuset who survives. Also surviving are six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three brothers, Paul Pertuset of New Boston, Ohio, Thomas Pertuset and Benjamin Pertuset, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and three sisters, Emma Campbell of McDermott, Ohio, Ida Price of Florida, and Ellen Raper of Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Crabtree Pertuset, two sons, Joseph Edward Pertuset and Ronald Dale Pertuset, one brother, Patrick Pertuset, and one sister, Mary Wolfe. Joe was retired from the Local No. 83, Laborers Union with twenty years of service, was a former employee of Taylor Stone Company with twenty years of service, was a member of the Henley Baptist Church, and was an Army veteran of WWII.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Rev. Robert L. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery with military grave rites by the Wm. A. Baker Post No. 363, American Legion, of Lucasville, Ohio. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
