Dorothy Allberry, 92

Dorothy Marie Allberry, 92, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 26, 1920, at Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Frieda Sommer. Dottie was a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a Masters Degree, a Registered Nurse, and taught nursing at Mercy Hospital.

She was a member of St. Mary of The Annunciation Catholic Church and a member of the Ohio Nurses Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Allberry, one brother Joseph Sommer, two sisters Magdalene Sommer and Sister Teresa Sommer.

Surviving are one brother James Sommer, a stepson Charles (Cathy) Allberry, two cousins Rosemary (Gerald) Pierron and Creed Milstead and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.

at St Mary Catholic of The Annunciation Church, with The Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church. Arrangements are under the direction of MELCHER FUNERAL HOME.
