A recent breaking and entering which resulted in the theft of several firearms and tools has now also resulted in the arrest of a Scioto County man. Jason S. Frye, age 31, of Pond Run Road, Stout, Ohio, has been charged with two counts of burglary, a felony of the second degree.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call on Nov. 15 from a West Portsmouth man stating that his house had been broken into and several items were stolen including several firearms and tools. Deputies responded to the West Portsmouth residence where a report was taken and forwarded to detectives for an investigation. During this ongoing investigation detectives were able to recover several of the stolen guns in Ashland, Ky.

Donini said Deputy Jason Diddle, the Nile Township community policing deputy, along with detectives, responded to a Pond Run Road address where they were able to detain Frye for questioning. That questioning resulted in his arrest, and Frye was held on a $20,000 bond.

Donini said anyone with any information concerning the burglary is being requested to contact Detective Dan Malone at 740-351-1099. All calls will remain anonymous.
