Scioto Hill Camp, in Wheelersburg, will host its 3rd annual Christmas at Camp event Saturday, Dec. 8, with a dinner and concert featuring the Grammy-nominated and award-winning singing group, The Kingsmen Quartet.

Known for their Southern Gospel genre, The Kingsmen Quartet was formed in 1956, and since that time has been Grammy -nominated, received four Dove Awards, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame in 2000, and The Christian Music Hall Of Fame in 2008.

Ray Reese, Kingsmen manager and bass singer, said the group’s music is the vehicle to spread their message.

“The key is to never lose sight of what we are working towards” Reese said. “We tour year-in and year-out to spread our music to people across the country. Our music has a message, the message of Christ. Every night we work to bring His message to our audience. Our goal is to see people saved through Jesus Christ whether we’re singing indoors, outdoors, in an auditorium, church or on recorded music.”

Jade Burley, office manager of the Scioto Hills Camp, said she is looking forward to the Christmas at the Camp this year.

“As always, we are really excited about this event, and we are expecting to have a great time. It is always a wonderful time of fellowship, and fun. The nicest part is meeting new people,” Burley said.

The cost to attend the event is $20 per person, or $35 per couple. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the event. Guests may start arriving at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. For those who will travel from far distance, lodging at the camp will be available. To make reservations, call 740-778-3279, or visit the website at www.sciotohills.com.

All proceeds collected from the Christmas at Camp event will go towards the Scioto Hills Youth Camps which are held annually.
