Russell Henson, 81

Russell Edward Henson, 81, of Portsmouth died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born Sept. 8, 1931, in Scioto County, son of the late Homer and Ester Kasee Henson, he was a former employee of the City of Portsmouth, was a National Guard veteran and was a member of Swauger Valley Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna Smith Henson; three sons, Russell (Trish) Henson of Delaware, David (Denise) Henson of Portsmouth, James (Belinda) Henson of Hurricane, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Homer Henson, Ralph Henson, and three sisters, Wanda Medley, Alvena Henson and Fern Ervin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
