Gregory Martin Crisp, 49, of Dayton, Ohio formally of Portsmouth went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 19, 2012, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born Dec. 23, 1962, in Portsmouth to the late Donald L. Crisp and Patsy (Donathan) Crisp who survives. Greg is also survived by a brother Kenneth of Portsmouth, his wife Chelsea of Dayton and three children, Sara (Chris) Brown and granddaughter Harper Jade of Portsmouth, Tyler of Columbus and Alex of Dayton. He is also survived by many Aunts and Uncles, and numerous cousins. Greg’s favorite bible verse was Psalm 23:4. Gregory retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2012, after more than 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the 122nd academy class and earned his commission on June 26, 1992. Upon graduation from the training academy he was assigned to the Springfield Post. In 1999 he was chosen to be a member of the divisions Special Response Team (SRT) red team. Which was a part-time ancillary duty unit at that time. When the SRT transitioned to a full-time operational unit Trooper Crisp transferred to the Office of Field Operations. He is a military veteran and served 24 years in the United States Air Force. Funeral services will be held at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
