Larry Percell, 65

Larry Dallas Percell, “Santa Claus” age 65 of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center under the care of Hospice. Larry was born June 10, 1947, in Wheelersburg. He was the son of Bernard C. Percell and Freda Stephenson Percell. Larry is survived by his mother, a brother Steve (Karen) Percell of Wheelersburg and a sister Claudia (Ithiel) Cooper of Wheelersburg, and two former wives, Rose Carter and Cindy Percell.

Also surviving are five daughters, Debi (Tom) Wagner of Wheelersburg, Ashli Marler of Saint Louis, Mo., Samantha (Matt) Meyer of Perryville, Mo., Carrie Percell of St. Genevieve, Mo. and Amanda Percell of St. Genevieve, Mo.

There are 14 grandchildren, Corie Marler, Kayla Wagner, Jessi Wagner, Cody Ferguson, Allie Ferguson, Dallas Ferguson, Braeden Meyer, Abi Saffie, Madison Sensabaugh, Brandon Hull, Teagan Polston, Tye Polston, Tessa Wright and Gemma Overstreet. Larry served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 in the US Army. He is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1006.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Percell.

Funeral services will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. There will be a funeral message at 7 p.m. by Steve Luster and Steve Percell. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice at SOMC and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1006 Scholarship Fund. Private burial will be in Vernon Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
