The Scioto County Sheriff’s office believes it has solved several thefts that took place in the Wheelersburg area with an arrest.

Jeffery D. Thacker, 31, of South Shore, Kentucky, is charged with four counts of theft, a fifth degree felony, along with several warrants.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said detectives have been actively investigating several thefts that took place in the Wheelersburg area. He said the thefts took place in the Lowe’s parking lot, and that several victims stated that they had parked in that lot to run in and purchase some items, and when they came out they found their vehicles had been broken int with items stolen in the entries.

Donini said, during the investigation, they were able to identify a possible suspect which resulted in warrants being filed through Portsmouth Municipal Court. On Sunday, Thacker was arrested on those warrants.

Donini said more charges will be presented to the Scioto County grand jury at a later date. He said anyone with information concerning those burglaries should contact Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091. He said all calls would remain anonymous.
