WAVERLY — The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle, fatal crash that occured Oct. 18 at approximately 7:55 a.m. on State Route 220 a tenth of a mile east of Strickland Road.
Skye E. Szoke, 16, of Waverly was operating a 2002 Honda Civic eastbound on SR 220 when she failed to negotiate a right curve, lost control, slid off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Her passenger, Beau. A. Szoke, 14, also of Waverly, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Beau was Skye’s brother. Both were students of Waverly High School.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
