In what could be the final home match for three of its seniors, Wheelersburg went out in style Tuesday night by sweeping Oak Hill in SOC II action.
One of the seniors, Fay Proehl, led the Pirates with 11 kills on the night. Maggie Stegman and Brooklyn Adams each added nine and Hannah Duckworth finished with 28 assists. Wheelersburg (10-8, 9-4) travels Thursday to Northwest while the Oaks turn around and host a nonleague match Wednesday with New Boston.

A week before their encounter in a Division IV Southeast Sectional Semifinal, New Boston defeated East in four sets in Tuesday’s SOC I match.
Kaitlyn Fannin led the Tigers (7-12, 5-8) with 22 points, Kiersten McGraw recorded 20 kills and Hannah Bender added 15 assists. New Boston travels Wednesday to Oak Hill.

Clay def. Notre Dame 23-25, 25-22, 25-12, 26-24
After dropping the first set in Tuesday’s SOC I match, host Clay regrouped to take the final three in the match against Notre Dame.
Of the 16 points recorded by Annie Hopkins on the night, eight of them came off aces. Marta Tomasi added 25 kills and Gabby Hickman chipped in with 41 assists for the Panthers (17-3, 11-2).
Clay travels Thursday to New Boston.

SOCCER
South Webster 7, Eastern 0
Host South Webster clinched the 2012 SOC I championship Tuesday with a 7-0 victory over conference foe Eastern.
Seth Goddard and Derek Rowe each scored a pair of goals for the Jeeps, who finished with an unbeaten mark in SOC I play. Lance Swords stopped all six Eagle shots and Austin Creech finished with seven saves in the loss.
South Webster (11-2-2, 7-0-1) hosts Wheelersburg Thursday.
