Bill Purdy, 58
William Roy “Bill” Purdy, 58 of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at his residence. He was born Sept. 1, 1954, a son of Ruby Bolton Purdy Dobbins of Portsmouth and the late Johnie Harlan Purdy.
He was a retired steel worker from Dayton Walther Company, former carpet layer for Harold Dobbins, and a 1972 West Portsmouth High School graduate.
He is also survived by his aunt Charlene Gahm of Minford; two step-sisters Lisa Craig of Michigan and Cara Dobbins of Portsmouth; sister-in-law Sue Parker of West Portsmouth; two cousins James (Nancy) Gillum of Columbus and David Gahm; special friend Jackie; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Purdy; and his step father Harold Dobbins.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Sept 24, 2012, in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
