The Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth is set to host its seventh annual Kids Day in Tracy Park Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rick Morgan with the Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth promises the day will be filled fun for the whole family.

“As Kiwanians we are all about the kids of the community. That has been and will remain our main focus,” Morgan said. “We hold this event to honor the children of the community. This gives area children a day that they can call theirs. Everything about this event is free.”

He said the event will include face painting, sack races, a demonstration from the Portsmouth Fire Department, a magic show along with a K-9 unit and many more activities scheduled throughout the day.

He said there will be balloons as well as snow cones, hot dogs and a variety of other food.

Morgan said the event typically draws about 200 kids to Tracy Park.

“The event has become known where kids can have a blast, eat well and have all kinds of fun,” Morgan said.
